Snowflake Data Platform AI Agent Governance tip: Check out the new Agents Inventory tab!
This tab gives us quick access to information such as:
–> The agents configured within the Snowflake Account
–> Results of AI Agent Security Scanners (more on that below)
–> Status of AI guardrails such as prompt injection management i.e. enabled / disabled
–> Have there been any violations to the above checks
A key aspect to the above is to enable the Snowflake AI security scanner package which checks for e.g.:
–> Prompt injection management
–> Sensitive data accessed by Snowflake agents
–> Cortex Search Services running on high privileged authorization. This is because the Cortex Search Services run on “Owners Rights” which means that they could be running with alot more privileges than are needed (yikes!))
–> Checks for agents using PATs (Programmatic Access Tokens) that don’t have role / network restrictions (double yikes!)
Note: the Snowflake Trust Center AI Security dialog is still in Public Preview, so not yet ready for production purposes.
Overall, this is a great Snowflake AI Agent Governance & security capability, usability is top notch, and looking forward to it reaching GA (General Availability!)
